Nigerians Urged to Explore Business Opportunities in Slovenia
The Nigeria‑Slovenia Chamber of Commerce has called on Nigerian entrepreneurs and businesses to broaden their horizons by exploring opportunities in Slovenia. The appeal came during the chamber’s 2025 Last Quarter Business Forum held in Lagos, an event designed to highlight mutual business prospects and promote trade relations between the two nations. Speaking at the forum, the chamber’s Director‑General, Mr Uche Udungwor, described the bilateral relationship as a promising economic frontier. He outlined the chamber’s mission to facilitate commerce, promote technical and scientific cooperation, and provide guidance on trade opportunities and challenges affecting Nigerian investors in Slovenia. Slovenia, situated in Central Europe with a population of around 2.1 million, offers a diverse market with strengths in pharmaceuticals, industrial machinery, automobiles, ICT, and renewable energy. Its economy is valued at $72.49 billion, and the nation is a member of both the European Union and the Schengen Group, providing access to broader European markets. Udungwor noted that while trade between the two countries remains modest, with Slovenia importing $5.7 million worth of goods from Nigeria in 2022, the country presents a low‑risk business environment. He encouraged Nigerian businesses to leverage Slovenia’s strategic location and stable economy to expand trade networks. Participants at the forum, including Mr Muyiwa Ajose, shared positive experiences, citing successful agro‑export partnerships facilitated through the chamber. The event underlined the potential for Nigerian businesses to benefit from collaboration with Slovenia and strengthen economic ties across Europe. The chamber continues to offer support, information, and advisory services to Nigerian investors seeking to tap into Slovenia’s growing market.
