The Federal Road Safety Corps has begun steps to prosecute popular TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, following a road crash that played out on social media and quickly drew public attention. Officials said the incident, which occurred while the influencer was recording content, raised concerns about distracted driving and disregard for traffic rules. Video clips circulated online showed the moments leading up to the crash, prompting swift reaction from road safety authorities. In a statement, the FRSC said it would pursue the matter in line with existing traffic laws, stressing that social media influence does not excuse unsafe behaviour on public roads. The Corps added that enforcement teams have been directed to ensure the case is handled through the appropriate legal channels. The move sends a clear signal as authorities intensify efforts to curb reckless driving, particularly among young motorists who broadcast their activities online.
