Atiku Says ADC Is Best Positioned To Rescue Nigeria
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has stated that the African Democratic Congress is the only political party capable of pulling Nigeria out of its current economic and security difficulties. He made the remark during a meeting with party supporters in Jalingo, where he presented the ADC as a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general election. Atiku, who recently joined the party, said Nigerians had already experienced the limitations of the major political platforms and should now consider a fresh direction. He argued that the ADC offers a more reliable path for national recovery, particularly in an atmosphere marked by rising inflation, unemployment, and continued security concerns. He appealed to citizens, especially youths and women, to register and collect their voter cards, stressing that participation in the electoral process remains essential for any meaningful political change. He also warned voters against returning to parties he accused of contributing to the country’s present challenges. Atiku expressed confidence that the ADC would win Taraba State and perform strongly at the national level, insisting that the party had the structure and policy ideas required to steer the country. His remarks drew a response from Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who questioned Atiku’s ability to lead a national revival. Oshiomhole argued that the former vice president had been unable to stabilize the Peoples Democratic Party when he held influence within it, and said this raised doubts about his claims of being able to fix the country. The exchange has added further attention to Atiku’s shift to the ADC, prompting analysts to watch how the party positions itself in the months ahead and whether it can build the momentum needed to challenge the dominant political players.
