Oborevwori Flags Off N50bn Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor
AGBOR – Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Monday officially flagged off the construction of the Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, a major infrastructure project valued at over 50 billion naira.The ceremony comes shortly after the recent groundbreaking of the Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli, reflecting what the state government describes as a sustained drive to upgrade key road infrastructure across Delta State.Speaking at the event, Governor Oborevwori said the flyover would ease persistent traffic congestion at the busy Uromi Junction while improving safety for motorists and pedestrians. He noted that the project aligns with his administration’s commitment to modernising critical transport routes and supporting economic growth.Construction work on the flyover, being handled by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has already commenced. The governor assured residents that the project would be closely monitored to ensure quality delivery and timely completion.The Uromi Junction Flyover is among newly approved projects by the State Executive Council and follows the near completion of three major flyovers at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction along the Effurun–Warri axis.Former Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, community leaders and residents present at the ceremony welcomed the project, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that would significantly improve traffic flow in Agbor and its environs.The event concluded with the symbolic turning of the soil, marking the formal start of construction on the flyover.
